The PrestaShop Blog has announced (in French only currently) a couple of long awaited developer resources, which look to be a pre-cursor to the official 1.1RC1 release which we expect to be made shortly.
The first is a data model of the PrestaShop database produced from MSQL Workbench, which is available for download from the PrestaShop website. It’s their announced intention to update this for each new version of the software, and will greatly assist in the process of new module creation for this open source eCommerce store.

In addition to the above, they have also opened up a public (read-only) SVN for download of the current work in progress version of PrestaShop (a 1.1 RC1 pre-release version at the time of writing). This obviously allows developers to test their own modules, templates and customisations prior to the full public release of the official release candidate. It is not recommended that users operate stores from the SVN version, as it is likely to be highly unstable (it may contain elements which are work in progress, and /or incomplete).
The SVN can be accessed using popular SVN client tools such as TortoiseSVN and by installing such a package, you can maintain a local copy of the current development version of this fantastic shopping cart on your own machine for testing and development purposes.
The public SVN is available via http://www.prestashop.com/publicsvn/trunk/
It looks like there are some exciting times ahead for PrestaShop users!

In the SVN version admin is renamed to admin-dev and the install folder should be install-dev. Just to confuse you!
Downloaded the SVN but it doesn’t seem to include the “install” folder.. Oh well.. I guess a manual install is in order.
